1972 GMC K1500 Green/White LWB One Owner
Well it was a one owner until I purchased this garage kept GMC in E. MT from the widow of the original owner, who was a WWII vet and mechanic. He purchased the truck locally in January 1972 and used it to trailer a fishing boat. The topper was added early so OEM paint remains on some of the bed wood. Rust is confined to the rocker panels and should be a straight forward fix - the cab corners and remainder of the truck is rust free and the paint is original save for one small area of the bed. It's a clean time capsule! I got a Hickey brush guard in the deal.
Not intending on a complete resto at this time. Just want to clean it up, repair the rust, maybe convert the interior to a Highlander plaid, and add OEM Spicer hubs. I swapped out the OEM steel wheels for later 4wd rally wheels w 33" BFGs, replaced the painted camper mirrors with a stainless set, and swapped the base side marker lights for a deluxe set. I'll keep the topper on the bed for the time being to help preserve the wood but am anxious to remove it and will likely add a tonneau cover for the sake of the wood.
