Steering radius on '68

Hi everyone. I just picked up a '68 c10 and one of the main things I want to fix is the steering radius and how loose the steering feels. I'm not sure if it's how it drives but I can be driving straight and turn the steering wheel left/right and the truck doesn't really respond. Is it because the steering gearbox needs to be replaced? Also anything I can do on the radius, it is especially a pain when parking or doing 3 point turns.
