Encountered a big problem with suspension..need help

So I was in the middle of jacking up my 68 c10 to chnage outthe pitman arm and noticed the grommet or flange that goes around the top of the shock broke off and the previous owner let the shock sit in the hole like that and now has flared out a bigger hole.

now my question is..i will eventually chnage into a lowering spindle and do a disc brake conversion. will the new spindle and conversion require differnt hole mounts? do i need to fix this or will it require a new hole anyways?

thanks
