Removing the Transmission crossmember help

We are trying to take the transmission out of a 1972 c10 to take it somewhere to be rebuilt. So far everything but the down shift cable that goes into the pan has been removed. It just won't come off the little catch( I think that's what's holding it in?) So we have decided to take the pan off. To do this we needed access to the 2 bolts holding the pan on that are blocked by the cross member. All the bolts have been removed from it and it is loose but after trying to tap it out of the way, it just keeps pivoting where the transmission sits on it.

Is there some trick that helps getting it out?

Thanks
