trans to tcase seal??

Ok. I have a newly rebuilt T350 mated to a np203 and just put fluid in it for the first time since the rebuild. I have transmission fluid leaking from the plate between the tcase and transmission. I thought the tail shaft of the trans would have been sealed and did not put silicone between the tcase plate and trans. Should this be doing this or do i have to take it all apart again? Note that the rebuild is 1 or 2 years old and i am finally getting to the point of getting fluid back in it. Nothing like getting to the point of being nearly done and having fresh trans fluid leaking when i havent even fired it yet. I did a search and found lots of info but none specific to my question. Thanks for all the help!
