Question on fastening of rear hardtop braket - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Hey guys! I have a question on how the hard top mounting brackets are secured on the rear of the bed. What I’m not sure of, is how the lower bolt is fastened to the box side. Is there supposed to be a nut welded to the inside of the boxed area or is there a loose nut that is used??? I leaning to welding a nut to the inside of the boxed side but would like to know what is factory correct.
