Pics of the last GM plant in Atlanta

This was the old GM plant in Doraville, Ga. It sits on 60 acres and was formerly called the B.O.P. plant as they assembled Buick, Olds, and Pontiacs there. The last products from this plant were the front wheel drive mini-vans. It was closed in 08 and has been on the market since then. The news says someone has made a deal on it and will start tearing it down soon, and will replace it with office space, retail, and housing. I don't think this concept has ever worked in the Atl area so I don't expect it to work this time either, other than to make bankruptcy lawyers rich.

The first pic is the front view of the office area. The silver building at the left of the second pic was the stamping plant. Porche was interested in it for a while but they chose another site near the airport. It was also mentioned as a site for the new Atlanta Falcons stadium but that didn't happen either. Look at Doraville, Ga on Google Earth to see a complete view to get an idea of how large the plant was.
