Stepside LSX Project from New Member
Whats up guys, The names Luke, new to the site and a little new to C10s, but I'm here.
I traded for this 69 GMC C15 a couple months ago. Its rolling and almost gutted. Came with some parts and a new American Wiring harness. Body is ok shape, no major major rust, just little on normal spots. Ive bought a 5 lug disc brake conversion kit and put on already, along with new ball joints, tie rods, etc... Plan is to get a cheap 5.3 or 6.0 carbed and cammed it, and a 4L80e. Simple budget LSX swap and cruiser. Im in college full time so its hard to do exactly what i want, ![]() ![]() Heres some pics and a little of the progress thats came along ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() For the rear, i seen one guy on here use a 80s model 10 bolt rear for a 5 lug rear swap, Although he had trailing arms. I found a 8.5 10 bolt from a 1987 c10 for $50. My leaf spring perches and stock 87 both seem to be 42.5 inches, so im putting new seals and a gear in it and see if i can get it to bolt up to my leafs. its about a 1/2 inch wider on both sides but we'll see if it'll work. Guess we'll see what happens The old 12 bolt ![]() ![]() New 8.5 10 bolt ![]() The man works in crocs.... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() So now I'm running brake lines and looking for some gears and so on. I have one question, what should i do for brakes power. should i just buy a booster and master cylinder or make my current set up work somehow or find a used early 70s booster and MC or? ![]() And if anybody has ever done this 73-87 rear end swap, post some pics and info lol or if anyone has any info on it I'd appreciate it also. so let the fun begin! ![]() |
