1/2 ton vs 3/4 in cab fuel tanks

I just bought a 71 3/4 ton 2wd truck that hasn't been started in 8 years. The entire fuel system must be replaced due to the great fuel we have to work with these days. In looking at a new tank I can only find 1/2 ton tanks. I didn't know there was a difference.

I know there's are different versions due to the emissions but is that the only issue I have to worry about?

Can someone shed some light on this for me?

Thanks
