3M molding tape to install rear door seals?

Hi all,

I have new seals for the rear doors on the panel. These are to be glued on, which can be a PITA and messy. I was thinking about the 3M molding tape. This is the thin stuff used on late model cars/trucks to hold trim moldings on the side of the vehicle. I was thinking I could apply the tape to the door and then stick the rubber seals to that. It would make for a clean and simple install and having tried to removed this stuff before, it seems to stick really well.

Has anyone else ever tried this method?

We were given two ears and one mouth for a reason... listen twice as much and speak half as often...
