Flex plate replacement. 69 350 c10

I have a 2 pc driveshaft. Does this have to be removed or can I disconnect the middle bearing? If so does this provide me enough room to pull the tranny back 4 in? If I disconnect the drive shaft at the back yoke can I pull the drive shaft thru? Done a lot replacement etc but never changed a flex plate by moving the tranny back.

Also how far can I move this without disconnecting any thing else?

If anyone can walk me thru this step by step it would appreciated.

Thank you
