Question edelbrock, RPM ?

I'm wanting to get an edelbrock Intake manifold,Carb. and cam kit for my stock 402BB.
I noticed on the performer series intake manifold you have to use a spacer to accept a edelbrock carb. because it's actually for a quadrajet carb.and is for (Idle-5500rpm)
If I go the performer RPM or RPM Airgap manifold I don't need the spacer and they are for(1500-6500rpm) and they are more towards performance.
What package do you all recommend? and what Rpm range should I be looking at (Idle-5500) or (1500-6500)? and what size cam do you all recommend? I'm looking to pick up more power but don't want the cam too big.want it to Idle good. Thank you
