Can you identify this wire?

Working on my dads '69 GMC. Sometimes it's hard to tell what is stock and what is some kluge he did at some point in the past.

Found this "hub" in the passenger side right next to the battery tray.

Edit: no idea why the pic is upside down. Am posting from my mothers ipad so am limited in what I can do. Sorry

The hub has 3 wires coming out of it. One goes down to the passenger headlights ( I think), 1 runs across the grill and looks like it runs through the firewall. The remaining wire is loose and dad says he thinks it goes to the battery positive.

Any ideas?
