Has anyone on here removed bed side spears on there 58-59 fleetside?

Hey guys,has anyone removed the spears from the bed side of a 58/59 fleet side?been searching on here but haven't found any post or pictures,I'm thinking about doing it to my 58,I know I'm probably going to get some heat for thinking about doing it but what do you guys think? I love the bed side of cameo but this is as close as I can get to one.I found pictures of a 57 truck called Quick silver and really like the it looks.Any input would be appreciated.
