its not sacrilege, its just about numbers and rarity. i have a 'hybrid' blazer which is a 4x4 vin tub but on a factory 2wd frame.

consider that in 1972 they made 44,266 4x4's and only 3,357 4x2's, so converting a 4wd makes sense if you really want a 2wd. i personally would not pay a premium for a converted blazer but some might.
