71 GMC 4X4 Short Bed For Sale

I never thought this day would come, but I'm putting O'Reb up for sale to the board, and ebay if it doesn't sell here. I am going to go into GREAT detail describing the good, the bad, and the ugly about this truck, so PLEASE READ EVERYTHING, as it will describe everything I can tell you about it. If you need additional pictues let me know, I do not want to hide anything, and want the buyer to be as pleased as I have been with the truck. The truck and all extras are sold as a package deal, do not want to sell seperate. Please note all the extras included with the deal, as I have accumulated a lot of extra parts to finish or supplement the restoration of this truck. Asking price is $2900.

The Truck

1971 GMC 4X4 Short Bed.
The frame # matches the vin # matches the # (wrong Super Cheyanne glove box door and data sticker) on clear title in my name. 350ci/th-350/np-205. This truck was originally a short fleet side , but I liked the short step better. I include many options that will allow you to turn this truck in to a Sierra Grande if you so decide. The 3/4 ton springs have been recurved and give about 4-5" of lift without blocks. 16.5" aluminum rims with 33" all terrains. PS, PB. Many, many extras are included (read everything). This truck runs very strong and is built to perform in the toughest conditions. Asking price is $2900

The Motor Done prior to my purchase, has less than 2000 miles on complete rebuild. I have no documentation but believe everything to be true and correct that this motor has been done right and everything stated is true. I have previous owners info to contact. The motor has not been touched by me, and still looks and runs like a high performance machine. (see pictures). It has definately been taken apart, rebuilt, and painted prior to installation. It has a nice lope to the idle from the hotter cam.

350 block, 4 bolt main, bored 30 over
10:1 compression flat top pistons and new rods
Lunati 268* cam
87-95 300hp heads with hardened seats and valves
Weiland dual plane aluminum intake
Holly 750 carb with manual choke
Hooker headers
Electronic ignition distributor
MSD Blaster 2 external coil
MSD 6A ignition
New fuel pump
New starter
New water pump
New 5 blade fan
Boiled out rodded 4 core radiator

The Drive Line Done prior to my purchase (except NP-205), has less than 2000 miles on complete rebuild.

Rebuilt TH-350 automatic tranny with shift kit
Rebuilt NP-205 transfercase (I had done in 3/03)
New adaptor for TH-350/NP-205 (purchased from GM 3/03)
New custom built racing drive shafts (super heavy duty)
Used Dana 44 (3/4 ton) front axel with spicer lock outs (unknown ratio)
Used 14 bolt (3/4 ton) real axel with posi (unknown ratio)
<note> axels came from a 70's model Chevy
3/4 ton suspension with recurved springs to give no block 4" lift
Front springs have new poly bushings
Front suspension is 3/4 ton and is new and tight

The Frame

Original 1/2 ton short wheel base frame in very nice shape. There is no repair to steering sector section. The truck drives straight and clean with no dog tracking.
The frames original engine cradle was cut out by a previous owner to allow a deep sump oil pan clearance. A piece of stock was welded in the cut out area below the motor mounts. I have a replacement 1/2 ton engine cradle to replace the fabricated one.
The motor mounts were fabricated and welded to the old cradle, and the replacement will allow for original small block motor mounts to be used.
The rear fleet side bumper has been welded to the frame using home made bumper brackets.

The Sheet Metal

Front bumper is of 71-72 Chevy design, no marker lights
Front grille is original and only needs to be re-chromed
Front top grille is original and has 2 small dents and needs re-chromed
Both eyebrow chrome pieces need re-chromed
Core support is original and shows no visible rust rot
Both inner fender are original and show no visible rust rot
Both outer fender are original and right side shows minimal rust rot
The hood (as shown in pics not included) the hood from front clip pics will be included which is in good shape.
Original non-A/C cab need replaced or extensive rust repair
(the cab corners, rockers, floor, frame supports are bad, rest is okay)
Driver door is original and has lower end rust
Passenger door is a 72, and is in good shape
Both door window regulators work very good
The short step bed is very nice. Already aluminum oxide blasted and etching primered.
Has diamond plate as bed floor over original wood and strips
Both rear fenders are in acceptable shape
Bed steps are in good shape (not installed, can get pics)
Bed front panel is bent and dented and will need replaced
Tailgate is in good shape with bondo used on one dent, one rust pin hole.
Has both tail-light and reverse brackets, only has taillight assemblies.

The Glass

Windshield is original, no pecks or cracks but is cloudy at edges
Both door glass is good
Rear slider works and locks, passenger side is pexiglass

What I Feel Is Still Wrong

The engine cradle as stated above (have part to fix)
Front brake lines need lengthened
Emergency brake lines work, but are stretched to the limit
Speedo cable inop
Needs tranny kick-down cable
Gas gadge inop
Wiring is a mess, but works
