Yes, I cut that one bed cross brace.
You can see here that I welded it to the 2 pipes that are used for the tank mount. Those are standard 1/2" black pipe and are plenty strong so there's no concern there.

I will have to remove the tank when I install the bed wood. No big deal to me. There's still room for mounting bolts but I may have to trim the bolt ends off.
