Fuel filters with return style fuel rail

I'm sure this has been covered, and I have searched, but maybe I'm not searching the right words. Majority of what I'm finding is for the return less type rail. I'm Installing a 02 5.3 into my 71 swb. Using the dorman fittings with nylon lines, also using a walbro external pump, stock fuel tank with return line added. My question is what fuel filters are you all using , both pre pump and post pump. What micron, brand, best bang for the buck and so on. Again I'm not using an fittings so im not looking for fancy billit canisters. Just want to make sure I get it all filtered out. Some people say to use a pre pump and some say not to because it will cause to much strain on pump. What's everyone's thoughts and recommendations? Thank you for any input.
