Removing Front Spring Hanger Bolt from Leaf Spring

I'm starting to change out the front rear spring hanger on my 86 C10 SWB with a hanger to lower the truck some in the rear. The rear shackle has been changed out. Any tricks to getting the spring eye bolt out. The exhaust system is in the way of getting a good wrench hold on the nut to really get some leverage on it. What is the spring eye bushing made of (will the heat from a torch damage it)? Is it possible to cut the head of the bolt off and drive the bolt thru the bushing toward the inside of the frame? Bolt and nut are pretty rusty and I'm sure I'm not the only one that has had this come up. Thanking you in advance for your advice. Larry
