screwy washer pump
Strange things are happening with my wiper and washer motor. I had to replace both awhile back, and the switch. Everything worked great for awhile.
But now, things have gone awry. Whenever I turn on the wipers, I'm getting water out the lines. If I understand the operation correctly, when you WANT water and push the switch, the washer pump apparently pumps water into the lines, then some kind of actuator actually pumps the water out for a few seconds, then is supposed to cut off. Problem seems to be that it doesn't cut off any more. I can hear a difference in the operation based on whether I push the washer button or not, as I hear the pump running. I don't hear the motor noise, just the distinct clicking if I don't push in on the wiper button. I suspect something is stuck, but that thing is such a pain to get out of there I want to make sure I'm headed down the right path and know what I should do once I get the thing unhooked, before I go tearinig into it. Anyone else encounter this problem and know what to do about it? |
