front gravel guard on 71 GMC burb

Replacing the front bumper on the 71 GMC burb I noticed U nuts under the grille. Factory Assembly Manual shows "baffle" but a lot if not most of the front part of manual is 67-70 (I think). I found them for sale but they say for 67-68. Also they are pretty darn expensive especially with shipping. An old thread discussed the difference between Chevy and GMC but in regard to a 67. Just wondering if it's something I should pursue or just put the bumper back without it. I'm 2000 miles away from my 71 Custom 10 or I would look at that. Thanks.
