Pro-Touring 67 C10 project with all the go fast goodies!
I have had this project in the works for awhile now. Pace is picking up on it so I thought I would start posting on it. Truck was started at another shop and was going no where fast. Customer had bought some parts off me and stopped by the shop one day and one thing led to another and so he loaded it up and brought it to me. Pictures are a little out of order, since the cab is the most current part I am working on, so I will fill in the rest of the story as I post the pics.
When I got the truck the cab was already body worked and in rust defender and appeared to be close to ready for paint. After inspection I noticed a lot of small issues and decided to have it blasted. that opened up a can of worms. Firewall had been smoothed, but the ground thru all the welds and sheetmetal in the process. Floor had patch upon patch on it and the rockers were installed wrong so I decided to yank it all out and start over. This is what I was left with. Installed new floor, firewall, and upper cowl. Since the customer did not want to run wipers, I left the inner cowl out for more real estate, You will understand why once I starting mounting components under the dash With all the bad fixed, we can now start on the good stuff. Customer wanted a smooth firewall so I decided to shorten it up and make it truly smooth. So it would not be boring to look at, I beadrolled the firewall to give it some personality. I will start final welding the firewall in tomorrow and start making new inner kick panels to finish out the sheetmetal on the front. Stay tuned for my next installment.
