Installed slider picture questions
I have two questions about sliders (read window). I picked one up, I think it's an original. It's silver, appears to be aluminum. Most aftermarket ones are black.
The questions are: 1) Can I retain my stainless molding in the weatherstripping? I've heard that it's been done, was perhaps always done for high model GMCs but not Chevrolets, and so on. But no matter what was correct, does it work? It'd look a lot nicer than just big black weatherstripping. 1a) Is it the same weatherstripping? Mine's brand new, just installed for a standard glass (non-slider). If so, what are the odds I can re-use mine? Or do they invariably get wrecked during removal? 2) Any chance someone can take a picture of the edge of an installed one so I can get an idea of how much it covers (how many sins it conceals!). The slider I bought has a couple of rough spots. I imagine you could TIG it up with aluminum, grind it down, polish it out, and so on. I'd hate to go to all of that work and then find out later "Hey dummy, you know you can't see that part, right?" Thanks! Dave
