700r4 question

I am sure this question has been asked before but had a little trouble finding my answer. I have a 1965 c20 and want to get a 700r4 in the truck. My plan is to pull a trans out of a junk yard. Here's a few questions.

1. I want to get a non electronic 700 and was wondering what was the best year to get. I read that 91 was the best.

2.Another question is what kind of cars had the 700 in it for a junk yard pull.

3. Can someone explain a little more about the lock up converter. Or can I use the converter from my th 350.

4. One other thing I read is that the 700 really heat up a lot. I have a small tranny cooler from my 350. Will that work for it or do I need a bigger one.

I have a 327 with a stock cam and maybe has about 250 horse so I will not be over powering the tranny. Or any other advice would be great. Thanks.
