Mark1957 Introduction
Hi, My name is Mark and I'm from Hood River, Oregon. I've enjoyed viewing some of the excellent work I see members here producing while signing up my account yesterday. I'm currently working on a 1957 Chevy Stepside I recently acquired. My plans are to do a resto-mod on it converting it to 4 wheel drive. I've already acquired a 1982 C10 that is my donor vehicle for the 350 engine, drive train, axles, steering column, brake and clutch pedals, etc. I don't feel guilty about it, either as the C10 has severe rust issues but is otherwise a good runner. My plan is to transfer those parts to the 57 chassis. I'll be doing a hydraulic clutch linkage conversion, too. Last I will rewire, paint and replace glass and trim to make this a really trick truck.
I'm not a stranger to this kind of work. I did a 1956 Willys Pickup years ago with a 289 Ford engine. More recently I completed a resto-mod on my 1952 Willys Jeep that involved putting the brake and clutch pedals from a 1989 Cherokee on the firewall with a booster, master clutch cylinder/clutch slave linkage, 4 wheel GM disc brakes, relocating a late 80's poly tank to under the rear of the jeep, new wiring, new paint, etc. Anyway, I'll probably be posting some pics of my 57 project and I welcome comments and advice. Thanks, Mark |
