road muck removal

so im trying to get the inside of fenders and under side of cab clean and all ive been successful with so far is a putty knife chipping away little by little are there any tricks or solvents that would make this any easier to get through...... im thinking of renting a power washer from home depot but not sure how much thats gonna do this stuff is pretty well bonded to surface
