Powered Air vents

While I was re assmbling my cowl vents today, I decided to try out an idea. I have been thinking that you could use the back window vent motor from a mini van to open & close the clowl vents in our trucks.

I used a left rear vent window motor from a mid 2000's Chrysler mini van. I rigged a 90 degree attachment poit and bent up a 4 inch piece of 3/16 rod. The moter was clamped to the cowl using vice grips. Add power & a window switch and it worked.

The motor mounting and the rod assembly still need to be fine tuned but hey it works (at least on the table). Ideally, I'll try to mount the motor up high enough as not to be visible from the seat.
