Radiator and swivel thermostat housing questions

Was wondering if anyone has dealt with this issue. I currently have a SBC in my 71 and am looking to replace the radiator with an aluminum one with dual fans from a vendor on this site. The plan is to later this year swap in an LS motor. So, it makes sense to to me to get radiator that will fit the LS engine application with the upper radiator outlet on the passenger side. In the meantime, I plan on running with the SBC and have considered using a swivel thermostat housing to make my upper hose search a bit easier. Will that work? Has anyone ever done this and, if so, what did you do? Any other ideas?
Thanks,
Phil
