Which rear view mirror?

I have a 72 and if I'm correct the earlier models used a mirror mounted on the window frame. I currently do not have a mirror mounted (its been on my to do list).

Which mirror do you guys prefer? I've always liked them mounted on the frame and not on the glass. Would it be a big deal to mount an early style mirror on my 72? Mine already has holes that I believe would line up.

Thanks.
