Re: What drew you to the 67-72 Chevy Trucks?
My Dad was a carpenter and was always a GM/Chevy guy and he had a '65 back in the early 70's when I was young. He worked with a guy who had a '71-72 and I always like the look of that truck with the eggcrate grill.
When I got a little older (16-17) I was driving a neat old '54 1/2 ton (olds rocket w/ Hydramatic) and I had a chance to buy a nice 70 GMC (ochre/1-2 ton) off a friend of mines Dad but couldn't afford it at the time....nice truck tho'. I would have liked that newer truck because it would have been far more road friendly than my old '54 at the time. Then life happened....lol....and later on in life (early 30's) I found a mint Texas '72 blue/white custom 10 and I bought it and although it was stolen 5 years later and never to be seen again, I hung in there. Then I found my now blue/white '72 Custom Deluxe 10 (highlander) in California which is the near exact truck to what I had stolen in condition, history, options, etc and went for it and again....never looked back. all good Coley
