Diamond in the ruff
Well, I have been a member for a few years now, but havent been on in quite a while due to selling my 87 heavy half due to frame rotting out.
Since then I have been looking for a diamond in the ruff, and believe that I just found it the other day. What i found/purchased is a 1979 K30 "Trailering Special" with factory A/C, 400SB, T400 trans, np203 with part time conversion installed with manual hubs, and best yet 49k ORIGINAL miles!! Im from Michigan (hence the motor city name) truck was shipped here from California and stored in a polebarn, so never seen snow/salt, frame is still black from the factory, only rust is from the sun out west baking the paint off (any suggestions on most cost effictive way to treat and paint this would be appreciated). The only bad is the interior which is pretty much wasted due to again the sun/heat out west, but I have new dash pad, door panels, rubber floor, gauge cluster lenses, door seals and weatherstripping coming already!! I plan to post pics now and then along the way of restoration, so if theres another place that would be better on here someone please let me know. Also can anyone let me know how common this truck is? I have never heard of a "trailering special" especially one with factory a/c that still works.
