Window channel guide repair - budget method.

So, i had an issue with my window faling off a track and sliding backwards, allowing the glass to tip in towards the cab, or out towards the street.

Turns out that the guide that bolts to the door was missing. The two brackets that are riveted to the guide cracked, and ultimately broke.



Well, im broke and dont have money to get new guides, so it's time to fix this. Poorboy style. My S10 blazer has lovingly provided me with sheet metal for various projects. Time to visit the carcass.


I started by taking some measurements from the existing legs off the guide, and ended up with this



Trim down the bolts, and you end up with this




Make a hole on the bottom bracket so you can mark the upper hole and make sure it lines up with the window.

I used a self tapping screw, but will change it out for a machine bolt soon enough
