Need some help with my K10 Springs
I have an 85 K10, shortbed, stepside. It's a very original truck with original springs. But now it needs shocks. After much deliberation I ended up getting some RS9000's. BTW this truck does not have the quad shocks.
I installed one of the front 9000's and I noticed it only had about 2-3" of compression travel in the rod. The body seems too long. I took it off and figured I'd call my dealer today about it. Before I call them I thought I should measure the distance between the bump stop and the axle. That measurement was about 2". The springs have the negative arch, but I was under the impression that is normal. It doesn't seem low, and regardless of the shocks, I like the ride. I like the stock look too, so I really don't want to lift it.
So my question is, what should I expect on my K10 between the bump stop and the front axle? Are these springs sagged? Or are the shocks/springs ok with that little bit of compression travel on a mostly street truck?
