32 EGR failure

My check engine light came on, in my 87 TBi truck. Ran the codes, and it said "32 EGR failure". So I'm assuming its saying its a code 32. Should I just replace the EGR vavle? Is it even necessary to do that at this point? I do not have to pass the sniffer test anymore in TX, as the truck is too old now. And the check engine light does not come on until you've been driving for a couple of hours.

Or are there other things that I might could check, instead of just buying a new EGR valve? They are kind of expensive for a good ACdelco brand one.
