what is a carrier?
what is a carrier in a rear end. i know my 12 bolt has a 3 series carrier because it has 3.07 open gears so if i want to switch to 3.73 i need aftermarket ones to fit a 3 series carrier. but what actauly is the carrier? is it part of the spider assembly in the center of the ring gear or what??? basically reason i want to know is if i take out the spider assembly crap and go to a mini spool do i still have a 3 series carrier and need 3 series 3.73 r&p?
