Couldn't resist: '72 C20 Cheyenne Super
Just finished the restoration of my '68 C10, but when I saw this truck, I could not resist. Was able to convince my wife that we need another pick-up and luckily she didn't fight too hard....she likes old cars and trucks, too!
The bad: original 400 engine is a goner, replaced by a now pretty tired 350. On the flip side, the doors for a LS swap are wide open now! Also pretty poor job on the repaint. The good: AC, interior pretty much complete and original, still has original turbo 400, and (and this is the best part!!) NO RUST!! Some surface rust here and there, but rockers, cab floor and corners are mint !! No holes in the fenders, either. I don't know yet if somebody fixed it when they repainted it, but I will find out, when I blow it apart and go through everything. Plan is total frame-off including LS-swap with OD tranny, suspension upgrades and big Wilwood brakes. Will probably start in the fall. During summer I need to drive the heck out of my '68 first......
