87 engine pictures for Gregski...and some vacuum questions...
It took me a little longer than I told ya Gregski, but I finally got the pictures for you.
One with the air cleaner on. The snorkel is off but it would normally come off and run to the passenger side of the radiator. [IMG] [/IMG]Now without the air cleaner. [IMG] [/IMG]Close up of the throttle body. To the left you see the map sensor (light grey). [IMG] [/IMG]Here you can see the pcv valve sticking up out of the passenger side valve cover. [IMG] [/IMG]Here you see the driver side. Toward the rear you can see where the tube originally came out and then ran to a spacer that sits on top of the throttle body and below the air cleaner. This tube is what broke off when I was changing the valve cover gaskets. Right now I just have a short piece of vacuum line running out of the hole and sticking up. [IMG] [/IMG][IMG] [/IMG]A few days ago I bought this breather and ran the vacuum line back to the spacer like the original piece did. I thought all was good....then I developed a horrendous oil leak. Oil was spraying all over the passenger side of the engine bay. After some reading up I decided the breather was causing excessive vacuum pressure. The breather has a spring loaded cover on the bottom that requires pressure to push it up vs. the original that was just a wide open tube. So I pulled the breather off and so far the leak is gone.
