Panic! Did I spend $600 on the wrong column?
[Later edit - just for context, it turns out to be the correct column; photo added in later post]
My original on the right, the one I purchased from a forum member (who restores them) on the left. As you can see it's quite different; it lacks the detent plate for the automatic transmission, among other things. Am I hooped here? Did I get sold a three-on-the-tree column? I can't imagine tilt columns and standard transmissions were common together... Please advise, as you can imagine, I'm stressed. I don't think they even made 3-speed tilt columns, but I can't imagine how this will provide reverse lockout and so on. To be clear, the top end is automatic (shift indicator, all of that). I'm using a 200-4R trans, so perhaps he removed them because they'd be "wrong" for the shift positions on the detent plate? And so I rely on the ones in the transmission? But that doesn't lock out reverse, etc. Thanks! Dave
