...OK, but how do you ID an EARLY dana 44?

Hey everybody. I spent some time today scraping 55 years worth of crud off the front axle of my '60 GMC K1500 in an attempt do gather some part numbers and data about it.

What I've been finding is that if I had a '67 or later axle I'd be able to load my BOM number into Dana's database and get a detailed listing of every part that went into it.

With a 1960 axle... not so much.

Anybody know of any good resources for getting data about early Dana 44 front axles?

What I have for axle tube numbers are: D103A5 where the date code should be and 21832X where the BOM number would be.

It's all mashed together into one long string of digits: "D103A521832X".

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
