fuel line woes

Ok, 1979 model Rochester Qjet on truck (72 402, auto) when bought it. Carb inline filter kpt clogging after two hours driving. Replaced gas tank with new tank and sender and rubber lines from sender to OEM line. Still clogging, so replaced fuel pump-still clogging. Found inline filter under cab and replaced now truck will not run over 40 mph as it starves for fuel. Probably gonna replace lines and take carb apart to clean. Do I have to replace return line as well?
