broken shock mount

I'm in the process of reversing the lowered rear end of my 76 chevy c10.

when I removed the shock mount extensions I found this lovely gem.

thoughts on a repair?

I'm sure my only option is to remove the axle, take it to a shop and have a new mount welded on but I wanted to ask the experts first.

I'm taking the truck back to stock height and it has been a real pain.
Any alternatives that are bolted to axle?

any and all help is appreciated.
