Bracket and Pulley Alignment

I have a 68 Chevrolet Custom Long Bed. I have a 71 to 85 Jasper Crate Motor...came with the truck. Currently the truck has a short water pump on it. I need to get an alternator bracket as I currently have one needing to be properly secured (po was running it with one mounting bolt). My question is...I hope to be adding power steering and air conditioning in my future and do not want to buy and then re-buy parts as I add accessories

Does anyone have advice on where to start since currently I only have an alternator? Should I start working towards a long water pump to make buying the brackets an easier process in the future? Any advice would be appreciated. I want serpentine but that will come way down the road due to money.

Thanks,
Jimmy
