I could use some help 72 K20

I have searched and searched, and there seems to be 1281 answers to this question. I have a 72 K20 longbed that I am going to use to be my daily driver. What I want from this truck is simple, daily driven, occasionally used to pull my car trailer, and camper. I want a 5.3 motor, 4l60e transmission, and my stock axles with the passenger side drop transfer case, is there a way to do this without tearing into the internals of the transmission, and if so, what do i need to do? any links you may have are welcome!!
