Re: 1963 C-10 in NC
Eric showed up shortly after lunch. We got the brakes bled, still need some minor adjusting, but won't take much.
We also worked on the hydraulic clutch. Will need just a touch more adjusting there also. Slave still feels a little spongy, so still has some air in it. Doing all this around a big block and long tube headers is fun if you've never had the experience. Later in the evening we switched gears to the engine. Got the covers swapped, #1 set to TDC, distributor pulled.....plenty of room for removal with the cap removed, engine primed, battery installed and of coarse it was dead, so took the battery out of Austins 63 and the oem starter just doesn't have enough to kick it over. Tried jumping off a truck and same result. By this time it was around 830, so we called it a night. I want to come in tonight and recheck that all grounds are good 1st, before I commit to a hi torque starter as it almost sounds like it doesn't have a good enough ground. Ran block to firewall grounds, battery to block and block to frame, so will pull grounds and make sure we have good contact. Couple of pics of the vintage covers installed.
