1970 Chevrolet CST/10 4x4 24,000 miles
Hi, I'm new to the forum but I've been reading and learning tips and tricks for about a month now.
I acquired this vehicle last year with the passing of my father. He was in the process of restoring this truck before he passed. My dad had restored multiple 72 Cheyennes in the past but this truck was considered the "cream of the crop" to him and all his truck buddies. I heard the story of him buying it atleast 100 times. It belonged to a local doctor that passed away in 2006 or so, his daughters posted it for sale in the paper for $2500. My dad went there, told them he take it and they realized they under priced it. Long story short, he ended up having to pay $3500 for it after a pissing match of, "it wouldn't be fair to the other buyers". A little about me, I am 20 years old but have been around trucks a while learning everything I can. I love to attend the local car shows and I have been trying to learn and get advice from others on restoring these trucks. A lot of the older crowd won't give me a second of their time since they see me as "younger and dumber" but I just take it as a reason to keep trying harder. About the truck.. It's a 1970 Chevrolet CST/10 4x4 Long bed with 24,000 actual, documented miles. Factory air, power brakes, power steering. All original and I plan to keep it that way. I am in the process of finishing the restoration and am not lacking much. I am currently trying to figure out how to post pictures from my phone so I won't leave y'all hanging. I can't wait to hear from the knowledgeable folks on this forum. |
