67 hood repair

So on my 67 c10 some one has mounted one of those ugly bug deflectors years ago, drilling four holes in the hood. they are right where there are no supports , kind of where the hood would be tin can like when you push on it. How can these be repaired? I want to weld the holes but am sure it would warp bad with little heat. My friend mentioned using the glue they install body panels with and glue a small repair patch from the underside and skim coat it with fill...any ideas??
