Automatic to manual swap process

I'm starting a search for another project C10 from this era, I've previously had a number of them but 20 years ago and they were all 3 on the column.

I want to have a manual transmission, the floor mounted version, and I'm not sure I'll find a good starting point that isn't a 3 on the tree or automatic so I need to sort out what I will need to do to swap in a floor mounted manual.

I did a search on here using "auto to manual swap" and looked in the FAQ and didn't find what I was looking for, which is a list of what I would need to accumulate/do to make this happen.

I did see references to low hump and high hump center sections and if a C10 is like my Cummins truck, a high hump is for the manual but I'm not sure about that or about a 4 speed floor versus 3 speed column shift floor.

Did I miss a link or reference on here for this purpose? If so, could someone please point me to it?

If not, does anyone know of a source for this information?

I've been holding a steering column section for a manual tranny C10 for at least 25 years. I know it's in my garage somewhere, awaiting this day.

thanks!
