62 305V6 GMC LS Swap - Any info or builds?

Looking to do budget 5.3 Vortec build myself with PS PB AC. Budget is about 3/4k sans AC. A local guy quoted me 8.5k to do this.

I have been pouring over build threads on the webz and have found only one post for this application? It stated the frame rails were narrow up front and possibly the mounts were welded.

I have been looking to add PS PB and to redo my bay a bit. The cost comes out about the same as swapping if my info is correct. My 305 starts and runs great now that I have debugged it a few years. But city driving is a chore as is.

I will also be swapping the front end as well. The rear is a 12 bolt with leaf and springs. Tranny is a 3speed OD rebuilt a few years ago.

Any surprises or info would be greatly appreciated. Or local shops arround DFW.
