In my zeal to prevent any future rust inside of my truck's heater box, I painted the back piece of the box, the shiny (rusted in my case) thin metal piece that was riveted to the box and shields the inside heater flap.

It's been hit with NAPA Rust Treatment and two coats of Krylon Primer. If I paint it with indoor and outdoor Krylon topcoat (silver) will it

1). Stand up to the temperatures of the heater core since this piece touches the heater core?

2). Will the paint produce smelly or dangerous fumes whenever I turn on the heater?

3). If the answer to #1 is "no" then should I use Krylon Engine Enamel and if so, would it produce smelly or dangerous fumes whenever I turn on the heater?
