Transmission Question

1971 C10 Short Bed 250 CID engine, only option is heavy springs and Posi-traction. I recently acquired a rebuilt 327 that has been sitting for awhile but was properly stored covered and oiled (no corrosion) professionally rebuilt. I got it from my friends brother so i trust the info, what hecan remember! It is a '67 block.

In the engine deal I got the rebuilt engine, new Edelbrock Intake an Edelbrock 600 CFM Carb (new) as well a chrome plated alternator, Hedmann ceramic coated hedders a TH350 auto transmission which I do not know the condition of and a hurst shifter for $2200.00. The TH350 looks great but it would cost $350.00 to get inspected and put back together. So the real issue is do I use the standard three speed or take a chance on the TH350. No one here in town has a transmission test stand they would have to disassemble, it's too old to scan.

My transmission question is will the stock three speed on the column handle a 327 Standard CAM.

Thanks in advance for any assistance!
